I am how ever am going to tell you rap and hip hop are greatly frowned upon for obivious reasons I dont need to point out.
Music varies with every person, its all about opinions, attitudes and emotions. The way people look at music is alot like finger prints, and taste buds.

I have always listened to Metal, but I love me some country music.

Burzum, Graveland, Falkenbach...  The Corrs...  Music I listen to is usually metal, usually with folk influences (or just folk - Korpiklaani and Wojnar for instance).  If it's got a good beat, a good tune, and a good message for the listener (or rather, not a bad message - no "beetches" and "dollaz" and "gangsta" bollocks), then I'll enjoy it.  Typical genres include Black Metal, Viking Metal, Folk Metal.  I also listen to a little bit of Skinhead Punk, mainly because the lyrics are brilliant.

I stick to folk music, usually.  The Irish have a wide range of songs, such that you can sing to yourself and explore, in so doing, a compelling story.

personally, my favourite bands are rage against the machine, the beatles, belle and sebastian, and nirvana..so its a good mix really, with different stuff for different moods.. nirvana, rage and beatles especially, are masters of their craft, with great messages too

I like Heavy Metall, Power Metell, R.A.C., OI!, Pagan, Folk, sometimes can listen classic rock.
Basically it is the groups singing in Russian. From foreign it is pleasant Hatebreed

Only problem with most German bands is that if mainstream, they're all left-wing.

Rammstein is very left-wing, but being in the NDH (Neu Deutsch Haerte/New German Hard), it'll sound like 'ask and reply' speech style music, with military or brutal themes.
Rammstein is great btw, I'm a die-hard fan, just saying, it may not be best for German speakers who hear the anti-Nazi theme.
