It's a cool thing if you can do it; the weather is the only obstacle I have.

its a pity that more people dont follow your lead. if you are worried about the pollution from cars you can get masks that filter a lot of it out

I'm more worried about women drivers.

The other day a group of cars passed me only to have the lead car stop for a left turn up ahead, one of the cars behind decided to go around between the car and curb right as I approached an nearly sandwiched me. I hit her car widow as I fell into the grass; she knew what she had done and sped off two bolcks, got out to see if I had dented her car and took off again before I could get down there.

cor that sounds like fun! gotta say i have spent a lot of time getting hit by cars, one women pulled up along side me looked at me then proceeded to turn left with me going straight into her and being taken round the corner hanging onto her wing mirror! best thing to do is to wear a pair of cycling gloves as your hands are gonna take more of a pounding than anything else when you come off.... and offer a bit of protection when you punch their mirrors! good luck out there!

Yep

Last night was a BEAR though; the downgraded Gustva had me pedaling into 30-40 MPH gust, at points I was reduced to 2 MPH or so. WOW

And it's pouring rain this morning so I drove for the first time in weeks; but other than that I love it.

haha, crazyness, good man, bear that weather =)

I have to give you props. I've been biking and walking everywhere for years. It's possible for me due to the small size of my town, making a car a convenience, not a necessity. You're eliminating your fuel emissions and making yourself healthier while you're at it. Keep it up.

Bike is retired until spring; back in the pollution machine and I hate it.

There are enclosed bikes that can be bought specially. I remember seeing a local man with one some years ago- it was completely enclosed by a soft shell like a tent to ensure the rider won’t get wet.

I wouldn't mind having one myself.

was it one of the low seated ones where you are almost sat at ground level, with your legs out in front?
There is a guy round here with one of them - very aerodynamic, but not sure i could get used to the position as i like to have a good view around myself and you are so much lower in them.
