Americans are unable to separate cause and effect.

Quote
We’re missing the obvious. Diversity sets us up for internal conflict. While one side is busy blaming those who never wanted diversity (side effect #1), the other is busy pointing fingers at the foreign newcomers whos values do not fit (side effect #2).

The incident at Fort Hood was the result of societal stigma over Muslims and the conflicts in the Middle East. Had his colleagues not been hesitant to file a complaint "simply because he was Muslim", this person might have been kept under tighter lock and key, if not removed entirely, before his emotional well overflowed with bullets.

But sometimes you have to get hit in the face to know that you need to duck next time. This 'should' turn into a big wake up call that we need to be assertive about the truth of things rather than rely on social stigmas and divisive matters; being Muslim is one thing, while being a Muslim who decides to trash his entire career, and almost his life, by barging into a base and dual-wielding pistols is something entirely different. If the divisive qualities of society must persist, then the best divisions would lie along the lines of "peaceful" and "violent extremist" rather than "Muslim, who therefore "must" be extremist" and "Not Muslim".

They get a guy named Hasan, which etomologically means assassin, and he lives up to his name...
Tragic, and could have been prevented. Too damn much PC going on. How many more have to die?

This is another example at how islam has become Arabized, and how capitalism and its whole idea of imperalism and gobalism has affected the world. Instead of actually learning about the religon this guy is probaby following what some self taught islamic teacher said about supporting the Ummah (moslem community). And how great Osama Bin Laden is. And the problems in Africa, Palestine, and other areas of the islamic world. Althought America in the name of free oil and capitalism, it unwavering support of Israel bombs and tries very much to police the world. And imposes its will and culture on the rest on the places. This is a very natural reaction for thinking people who are pushed into thinking like the rest of society. Its a very sad fact that terrorism is on the rise, this is apparent all over and NOT just limited to the islamic world. History has shown when people are oppessed they will react violently if pushed to do so. I personally think this guy couldve been brainwashed but theres no evidance of him having any terrorist literature or showing any support for Al Qaida. Who knows....All I know is that people are waking up and seeing that gobalism is hurting our lands, earth and economy. Cultures and religons and ideas are being erased by it.
