National Socialist Library: Magazines: National Socialist

Breaking from the previous generations of National Socialist-themed publications in the United States, National Socialist eschews material illustrating potential threats for writing that explains in simple terms how things work and why they currently do not. Although it indulges traditional neo-Nazi topics, its attitude toward minority groups is more like the wariness of a pet owner toward a favorite pet's reckless bodily functions and shoe chewing. Jews are seen less as the cryptic world manipulator and more like a wealthy uncle who, by insisting on being pacified in any decision, causes havoc at every family gathering. These ten pages mostly cover familiar ground in new ways: the rot in our inner cities, the antisocial behavior of most nationalist organizations, the destructiveness of leftists and political developments of which nationalists should be aware. The writing is efficient and well-edited and alertly designed for fun, stimulating reading so that National Socialist reads like a far-right-wing version of The Atlantic or Rolling Stone. None of the ranting, ineffective hatred and wailing crisis reporting of previous national socialist publications is here. With a sharp sense of humor and a willingness to laugh, as well as the attitude that its readers deserve to see the "reasons why" more than the propaganda for those reasons, the National Socialist is likely to grow among the educated, social, normal and healthy segment of the nationalist audience.
