11/06/2007: "Rich are sexually decadent, confused and immoral"

According to Prince and Associates, a Connecticut firm that tracks the habits of the rich, those having affairs were more women (61%) than men (43%). The reason cited most frequently by both sexes: variety.

Most men responding to the Prince & Associates survey (75%) said cost is their main obstacle to getting a divorce, and 61.5% said they feared it would hurt business dealings and opportunities. Just 7.7% of men cited harm to the kids.

[ Making a marriage work takes effort, and some degree of selflessness. These people show neither. They're busy earning money, one might guess, but that these are the "best" our society can pick shows we're in deep doo-doo as far as character, spirit and quality of human beings is concerned. ]

Thought it's highly unlikely, I would still be neither suprised nor distressed if something approaching a sane American government one day outlawed marriage entirely, declaring it a socially-harmful practice akin to gambling or alcoholism. Of course, this would be a complete non-issue were our society still traditionalist and free of rampant Political Correctness, but until we get a solid chance at ridding the country of all things Bolshevik, marriage will remain the Great American Mistake in my book.
