04/06/2008: "Mixed Race Family Family Moves to Escape Racial taunts in Eastern German Town"
Insulted, spat at and attacked -- by ordinary Germans. Unable to bear the daily racism, a pastor's family fled from a small town in eastern Germany back to the their former home in the west.
The town has to walk a fine line. It has to fight against the blanket judgment that it is a nest of xenophobia, but it must also avoid publicly dismissing the Neuschäfers' claims as being made-up stories. At times, the latter is particularly hard.
[ Such stories may be largely made up, with the motive being to instill a sense of guilt and "anti-racist" outrage amongst Eastern Germans. However, it is unavoidable that different ethnicities are basically incompatible and the multiracial project has failed. ]
