06/01/2008: "Wax Hitler at Berlin Madame Tussauds causes outrage"

Hitler is back in Berlin as a wax figure at a new Madame Tussauds wax museum, and some German politicians are outraged.

The figure is "tasteless beyond compare," Christian Democratic Union (CDU) politician Michael Braun told German daily Der Tagesspiegel on Thursday.

Social Democratic (SPD) culture specialist Brigitte Lang told the paper she found the idea "unspeakable."

The wax Adolf Hitler figure is not in any way glorified. He is posed as an aging, timid man sitting in a bunker.
