08/10/2008: "Racist if you don't vote for Obama"

Welcome to the murky world of modern racism, where most of the open animus has been replaced by a shadowy bias that is difficult to measure. As Obama gently put it in his race speech, today’s racial "resentments aren’t always expressed in polite company." However, they can be - and possibly will be - expressed in the privacy of the voting booth.

If the percentage of white voters who cannot bring themselves to vote for a black candidate were only 15 percent, that would be more than all black voters combined.

[ If we vote for a candidate who most resembles ourselves, it is only natural. We are voting for someone who represents our interests ( although McCain betrays white interests just as much as Obama). So blacks tend to vote for blacks and whites for whites - and why shouldn't they? ]

I'm voting for Obama although I'm white, because I expect him to be loyal to the blacks whose jobs the Hispanics are taking. I look at McCain and see four more years of the same. I wish there were a white candidate who'd do better.
