03/05/2009: "The Religious Right consumes the most porn"

The analysis of credit card receipts from an online adult entertainment provider puts ruby red Utah at the top of the porn consumption league. 5.7 per cent of every 1000 broadband homes in the state have a subscription. But, as the New Scientist reveals, there is also a broader political trend:

Eight of the top 10 pornography consuming states gave their electoral votes to John McCain in last year's presidential election - Florida and Hawaii were the exceptions. While six out of the lowest 10 favoured Barack Obama.

And it's not just political affiliations. Although church-goers are marginally less likely to buy porn on Sundays, the more religious a state is, the more likely it is to consume porn.

From stats I have seen teenagers are the biggest viewers of porn. Old men tend to have flagging sex drives and impotence - plus since women usually outlive men they should have wives as well as other family judging their behavior surely?

how does anything found connect to republicans and the right, religious persons, or anyone who even votes. all that i inferred was that old people like porn, as they were the ones to buy it. hey by the by doesn't consume correlate to digestion?
