03/30/2009: "Illiteracy hits a new high for Scottish school-leavers"

SCOTLAND is facing an "illiteracy timebomb" with alarming new figures showing one in six now leave school unable to read, write or add up.

Worse still, a fifth of adults lack the proper skills to even look up a plumber in the Yellow Pages, with experts claiming the scale of the problem could be costing the economy £6billion a year.

In primary school, as many as one in three children fail to reach the appropriate level by the time they leave for secondary school.

[ No doubt poor teaching is a big part of this - since literacy levels in Cuba are very high and they are not exactly the most intelligent population in the world - but loss of IQ through dysgenic breeding as well as the high proportion of foreigners in schools who can't even speak English are other factors. ]

and shouldn't we talk about how many third world countries had a much worse dental problem following adoption of western diet. aren't the most deeply entrenched in poor urban areas influenced to pick up the cheapest food for the buck?

fat food are cheaper but have no good mix of vitamins in them. they also stimulate our senses much more readily.

even nowdays, it is said that rice and corn are poor in nutrional values, even with their agricultural importance. we create too many person, who cannot be properly fed to be at the summon of their intelligence.

in fact, so many can be properly fed but are not doing so. cuba is a communist state so food rations are equally divided among the people, plus one thing communist state do in third world country when they come into power is increase literacy and healthcare
