05/21/2009: "Schoolboy victim of life-threatening hammer attack by Asians sues his school"

A teenager has launched a £1million claim against the school where he was attacked with a claw hammer and left for dead.

Henry Webster, 18, suffered a fractured skull and brain damage in the attack by Asian students at Ridgeway School in Wroughton, Wilts.

His barrister Robert Glancy QC told the High Court in London: "If the school had only paid heed to the whole atmosphere of racial tension this attack would not have occurred." Ridgeway denies liability..
