06/14/2009: "Basic anatomy 'baffles Britons'"

Many people in the UK are unable to identify the location of their major organs, a study suggests.

A team at King's College London found public understanding of basic anatomy has not improved since a similar survey was conducted 40 years ago.

Less than 50% of the more than 700 people surveyed could correctly place the heart, BMC Family Practice says.

[ I would like to see how well Americans would do on this. It is doubtful they would do better. However Russians most likely would do a lot better. It all depends on the extent to which knowledge is considered valuable in the society. Westerners are dumbed down deliberately. ]

Now if only these dumbasses would forget where their reproductive organs are! Apparently, they've got that down quite well, as Britain has the second highest teen pregnancy rate, only trailing America ... in the list of developed countries.
