Philosophy

Much of philosophy devotes itself to explaining the function of the world in metaphysical terms, but when one is accustomed to having a real-world focus, this issues become unimportant because, however the world works or whatever the cosmological origin of its function, it operates consistently and we through whatever filters we use can perceive the abstract structure of its workings. Once this is ascertained, the only remaining question of philosophy is "What is meaningful?" To this we offer a simple answer.

Objects and events occur, but pass without importance unless they enact some change on us or the world. When this has happened, as we look back through the events in our memory, what matters is that a new point of conclusion has occurred; the change that these actions have brought is the point from which all future actions will begin. What matters therefore is the difference in situation, and not the objects or events that brought it about; in this way, our world operates much like our minds, in which various mechanations produce conclusions from which we base our next thoughts.

To realize this is to separate the world into ideals and methods, and to relegate physical comfort and mortality to methods, as our physical living is a method toward the end of having the experience of life. To have more desire for achievement of ideals than fear for comfort or personality mortality, which are methods, is to embrace a heroic worldview; this is the origin of all healthy Indo-European philosophy and the beginning of the mindset that can create civilization. A heroic worldview is by definition active, in that it accepts life as whole with both pleasure and pain, and affirms what is important by way of acting on it.

The unhealthy philosophy which is the extreme opposite of a heroic belief is the passive philosophy: a belief in the material world alone, such that the highest goals an individual can have are comfort and being alive. The root of the passive mindset is a lack of trust in nature and life itself, most commonly coupled with a fear of death, and it causes a differentation of all things into either self or world. Another term for this belief, as seen by healthy people, is paranoia; the individual sees himself as opposed to the world and fighting it for survival. A heroic philosophy in contrast sees the world as an ally, and the individual as fighting for meaning (through ideals) with which to fill the time of life.

Modern philosophies are passive, and replace goal with method such that instead of aiming for significant lives, we aim to preserve lives; instead of using money to pursue objectives, money becomes the objective; instead of using political power for our common good, political power becomes seen as the only good. Because of their linear self-against-world nature, passive philosophies do not lead to civilization building but to paranoid, destabilized, neurotic selfishness, at least for Indo-Europeans. The philosophy of the LNSG is that the only fulfilling life is an ascendant, heroic one, and that humans are happiest where there are real challenges, real sacrifices, and real victories.

For this reason, we refuse to indulge in the practice of dividing the world into absolute "good" and "evil," and thus offering "proof" to the undifferentiated masses that our ideas are the only viable ones. First, there is no way to "prove" things of a non-linear nature; second, we believe it to be passive. Instead, we accept the burden of life alongside the joys and assert our beliefs as choices we make, because the strongest affirmation of self and belief is to say, "This ideal is what I prefer, and I dedicate my energy to accomplishing it."
